HORRIBLE service w/ title payoff & release

Toyota Financial complaint
This is an absolute abomination. I decided to sell my 2005 Tundra which I bought new. First I tried trade-in at the dealer where I bought it and they offered me about 1/2 of market value. So I decided to sell the truck myself and found the buyer, no problem.

Getting the title has been and continues to be a nightmare (I still don't have it.) They told me to pay off the remainder of the balance online because this would "speed things up." We did this 5/5/08, the money posted as withdrawn out of our account on 5/7/08 and they are saying that we have to wait till 5/19/08 before they even mail the title!!! And then they send it regular mail so I won't see it till the last week of the month. So let me sum this up: I do the "immediate" online payment and wait three weeks or longer to receive my title. I think the buyer will have changed his mind by then.

Why does Toyota Finance have to sit on my money that long? To make sure payment clears, OK. So my wife had something from the bank faxed that showed this transaction posted 5/9 and that they got their money. The fax from the bank showed the exact amount to the penny, my account number with Toyota Financial, the truck, our address... everything they could possibly want. It shows the money went from our account into this Toyota Finance account, the exact amount, all numbers referenced right... and that was not good enough. It had to have MY NAME on it?! My wife is the one that signs out checks and that was never a problem. Every time I jump through one hoop they want something else, and they still cannot tell me when I can get my title.

I just sold my boat too, on which I also owed a balance and did not have the title, only this was financed through my credit union. Same situation, only MUCH better customer service. One call took care of it; they explained everything well the first time and took care of everything quickly and both the buyer and the seller (me) were happy with the transaction. That was great customer service.

In contrast, this is a total nightmare. Toyota Financial Customer Service is rigid, incompetent, and every agent gave me a different story. Someone should train those idiots on how to communicate. I will not buy another Toyota, EVER! THEIR VEHICLES ARE GOOD, THEIR DEALERS (AT LEAST THE ONE I DEALT WITH) ALSO GOOD, BUT FINANCIAL SERVICE HORRIBLE!

NEVER AGAIN! NOT ME!
